Digitalization in Healtcare for the Sake of Human Life in the Region
In Turkey, hospitals continue to get digitalized! After the HIMSS EMRAM integration of Sinop Hospital and İstanbul Üsküdar Public Hospital last month, Safranbolu Public Hospital has established their new digitalization project. Dr. Erkan Andaç, the Chief Physician of Safranbolu Public Hospital introduced the Patient Relative Watching Portal that enables the relatives to nurse along their loved ones digitally. The Chief Physican announced that they will also work hard for the Hospital’s integration to the HIMSS standards and certification.
Turkey’s position in the Eurasia region in terms of health digitalization is a leading role. According to Haldun Pak from Rasyomed, Turkey has the great potential to lead this technology and AI based new health system with the infrastructure and expertise.
Digitalization in healthcare does not only take place in the hospitals for sure but also in where the healthcare workforce is forged: in universities! Prof. Dr. Aysun Bay Karabulut, Rector of Malatya Turgut Özal University introduced their establishment of quality-accreditation based MSc degrees along with the project of healthcare related departments’ full technology integration.
Let us quote from Harold “Hal” Wolf’s speech of HIMSS+Eurasia 2020’s opening, “Integration requires time, process and leadership.” For Eurasian region, Turkey undertakes the leadership and with the collaboration of Ministries of Health, HIMSS and Ekspoturk, we do our best to increase the availability to best healthcare conditions for the region.
