  • The purpose of the HIMSS Europe Governing Council(“Council”) is to
  • • Serve as the governing body for HIMSS Europe with responsibilities
  • • Determine strategic direction for HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe,
  • • Provide content expertise,
  • • Maintain programme oversight of the activities of HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe
  • • Appoint member-based work groups who have delegated responsibility to assist management in the execution of operational strategies and tactics (e.g., WoHIT, CIO Summit, membership, educational programmes, etc),
  • • Support the development and promotion of other HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe products and services, and
  • • Develop governance roles, procedures and practices to ensure an effective governance and oversight body.


The Council is a semi-autonomous governing body within the corporate structure of HIMSS.  It supports the vision and mission of HIMSS and operates within the strategic framework established by HIMSS WorldWide.  With input from HIMSS WorldWide, the Council sets and in partnership with the management team, executes its own tactical agenda and strategies.
