“As Malaysian Ministry of Health, We Cooperate With The Necessary Institution”
Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Malaysia Minister of Health said that exciting developments in the field of health technologies caused both excitement and panic. “Technology transforms traditional knowledge, practice and business models. As in all sectors, the health sector also gets its share. In the health sector, holistic care evolves well into preventive care. Developments such as Internet of objects, wearable devices, learning machines and big data much more effective and active in the implementation of health services. This, of course, allows us to face different challenges and opportunities than ever before. For example, artificial intelligence can predict cancer cells. We can create demos for use in treatment,” said.
Ahmad stated that in health transformation in Malaysia they aimed to carry out health strategies together with the economic transformation in the scope of technology and he continued his speech as follows: The increasing population in Malaysia also increases the expenditures on the health sector. We are organizing the necessary activities in order to realize e-health services in a multi way and exchange of health technologies. In this way, we are integrating both public and private sector into our health platform. In this context our systems that are going to develop hospital systems are activated such as opening the Malaysian Health Data Bank, conducting health information exchange meetings and opening online health services. They offer new opportunities for our healthcare organizations.
Innovations from the internet of objects to artificial intelligence, from genomes to robots are followed and applied as much as possible; the storage and use of human and patient-focused data facilitate our work. Digital health is improving individual health management nationally. As the Ministry, we try to ensure the transition to digitalization by publishing policies in regulations. Thus, we aim to improve the health ecosystem. The Ministry of Health takes over the digital leadership and supports the digitalization of health services. Making patient care more private and safe, and improving health systems in terms of access to individuals and families developes with public and private strategic partnerships. In this sense, as the Ministry of Health, we try to cooperate with the necessary institutions.”
