HIMSS Europe 18 that addresses the whole spectrum of digital health ecosystem, brought together healthcare experts, hospital managers and buyers in Barcelona on 27-29 May. At HIMSS Europe 18, welcomed the attendees and exhibitors from many countries especially from European countries, Turkey was discussed by reason of having the highest number of hospitals at EMRAM 6 level.
Turkey marked on HIMSS 18 EMRAM rewards. With 163 hospitals at the HIMSS EMRAM 6 level that gained in 2017, Turkey left Europe behind. Turkey made great success with 164 hospital among the hospital representatives who qualified to receive Level 6 and Level 7 registration from 8 countries within the context of digital hospital studies. Dr. Şuayip Birinci, Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Health who received a prize on behalf of successful hospitals said that it was only a beginning and they aimed to Turkey’s world leadership in digital hospital field.
Turkey, the European first with digitalizing hospitals
Turkey ranked the first in Europe with the HIMSS EMRAM 6 level that have achieved at 163 hospitals in 2017. In recent years İzmir Tire State Hospital from Turkey had received EMRAM 7 level which is the highest level in the HIMSS EMRAM rating criteria. Turkey that is among Europe’s top 10 countries rose to the position most successful countries with a hospital at the level 7 and 6 hospitals at the level of 6 in this area.
Dr. Şuayip Birinci, Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Health, who received awards on behalf of HIMSS Europe’18 degree hospitals thanked to managers of hospitals and all the personnel who carried Turkey to the European championship with their studies and he wished for success. “This documented success of the state hospitals is proud on behalf of Turkey,” said Dr. Şuayip Birinci and indicated that this success brought Turkey into the role model position in terms of the all regional countries and developing countries that Turkey achieved in the past 15 years as a result of the Health Transformation Program in health sector.
ESİM* and E-Pulse* Projects also received awards
In the ELSEVIER ICT Awards given under the HIMSS Europe’18 event, T.R. Ministry of Health received the Innovation Award with the “Unimpeded Health Communication Center (ESIM)” Project. At the ceremony where the participants came from all over Europe, Ministry of Health had repercussions to take place between the last 3 finalists with both two projects, ESIM and E Pulse. Ministry of Health has won the first prize with the ESIM project.
