Dr. Barış Erdoğan has over 25 years of professional experience in the IT sector, with the last 15 years focused on the healthcare industry. He has extensive experience in using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for data-driven healthcare services, particularly in the clinical research and real-world evidence (RWE) phases of the drug development lifecycle.
Dr. Erdoğan has worked on both government and private sector projects for privately-owned companies, private equity-funded firms, and publicly traded organizations. He has held senior executive roles in multinational companies for many years and successfully led four mergers and acquisitions (M&A) agreements, along with team and business integrations following these transactions. He has also served as an external partner in two European Union-funded consortia focused on interoperability of patient data and real-world evidence generation.
Currently, Dr. Erdoğan serves as the CEO of an international Switzerland-based company while also continuing his academic work as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences at Istinye University. His primary research areas include artificial intelligence applications in healthcare. Additionally, he serves as the Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research and Application Center at Istinye University.
