Cengizhan Öztürk holds degrees in medicine and engineering (MD, Marmara University; PhD, Biomedical Engineering, Drexel University). He completed his postdoctoral studies at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes of Health (NIH-NHLBI) in the USA. Since 2000, he has been serving as a faculty member at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at Boğaziçi University.
Between 2008 and 2013, Prof. Öztürk served first as the Project Coordinator and then as the Founding Director of the Center for Life Sciences and Technologies (Boğaziçi LifeSci, https://lifesci.boun.edu.tr) at Boğaziçi University. These infrastructures are currently undergoing significant restructuring and growth under the umbrella of the Center for Targeted Treatment Technologies (HTTM, CT3).
Since 2014, Prof. Öztürk has coordinated the Istanbul Health Industry Cluster (İSEK, http://i-sek.org) and, as of 2023, serves as the Chairman of the Board of the newly established İSEK Association.
